Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. In 2020, there was an estimated worldwide deaths from suicide rate of 13.5% per 100,000 population.
To combat this global problem, we need to empathize with those around us, treating everyone with sensitivity and being there for anyone who may be struggling.
In the United States, the suicide hotline is offered to call or text all hours of the day.
The caller will be connected with a trained mental health professional who can provide support and assistance to those struggling or those close to this person. This number is 988 or 1-800-273-8255.
